"It won't be an easy task, and will take a lot of hard work from many people,"

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Franklin County Military Outreach Program (FCMOP) is to provide assistance to the immediate families of both service members and spouses of all locally deployed service members on a variety of military and veteran’s related topics. Our organization offers fellowship and camaraderie, benefits counseling assistance, and referral assistance to behavioral health counseling services through the various local, county, state, and national service organizations equipped to facilitate those important needs. We are also dedicated to helping deployed service members and their immediate families, receive all the community support possible within our capabilities, especially during times of deployment.
As an organization, we will also strive to provide limited financial support (like phone cards, gas expense cards, emergency transportation funds, and similar monetary grants), based on a real need, and our ability to provide such benefits and services at the time requested. Additionally, we will assist in helping newly disabled service members and their immediate families to locate and contact the proper government agencies, and to facilitate their applying for Veterans Administration disability and medical care.

The FCMOP had a core group of approximately 8 members that have attended most of the monthly meetings. But due to the prolonged illness and disability of the Director, the organization ceased to function. Now that I’m able to slowly return to my full duties, I’m looking for new members to fill all the vacant positions. A military background is desirable but not necessary. We need help in fund raising events. We have assisted some family members and active duty personnel. Our mission is currently being in supporting our local service men & woman that have deployed. The Adopt-A-Soldier program is now stagnated. The support from the Franklin County five school districts had been overwhelming. The Valley Agency is no longer available to collect items for the soldiers or allowing us to headquarter out of their facility. Anyone wishing to donate items can bring them to my residence located at 2948 Roosevelt Drive in Chambersburg. Monetary donations can be sent to FCMOP, PO Box 745, Chambersburg, PA. 17201
